Get pregnant quickly, the best tips

Once you have decided that you want to become pregnant, you may hope that it will work as quickly as possible. But what can you do to become more fertile? And how often can you have the best sex? These tips can increase the chance of a pregnancy planning to conceive this month.

Make sure you are healthy

First of all, it is important that you are healthy. Try to avoid stress (stress has a negative impact on your hormone system) and make sure you have a good weight. At a BMI between 18.5 and 25 you have a normal chance of a pregnancy, but if you are (much) too heavy or too light, it can be harder to get pregnant. Also do enough physical exercise: you will stay fit in sports and you will benefit greatly from this before and during your pregnancy.

Know your fertile days

Of course you can have sex whenever you want, but especially in the period before ovulation: only then are you fertile. Sperm cells can survive up to 4 days in the uterus, awaiting the egg. In most women, ovulation occurs 2 weeks before the next menstrual period. If you have a cycle of exactly 28 days, then your ovulation is about 2 weeks after the first day of your last menstrual period. You can track it yourself or use an online ovulation calendar to calculate the most fertile period. In case of an irregular menstrual cycle it is more difficult to know when you are fertile days, then you can also take a few days before and after the probable period.

Ovulation test

You can also use an  ovulation test  . There are different types and brands available. These tests measure the LH peak (LH stands for Luteinizing Hormone) in your urine. Under the influence of a large amount of LH, ovulation occurs, in the middle of the cycle. So if there is a lot of this hormone in your urine, you know that your ovulation is coming. Unfortunately, the tests are not suitable for everyone. For example, if you have PCOS (a hormone disorder), the result will often be incorrectly positive because PCOS gives a constantly increased LH level. Even in women over forty and women who are early in the transition, the test result can be positive without ovulation.

Jump to your separation

Your discharge also gives a good indication of your fertile period. The composition and clarity of the cervical mucus (secretion) changes when the ovulation comes closer. The regular white secretion becomes clear and shiny and becomes slimy, drape and thin. This is beneficial for the sperm cells, which are therefore easier to reach the uterus. This change starts 3 to 4 days before ovulation and then your secretion immediately returns to normal. It may take some getting used to, but if you can make a wire of about 10 centimeters with the mucus between your fingers, you know that you are fertile now.
