Pslings are made for a specific shoulder, either the right shoulder (RS) or the left shoulder (LS).

What is 'correct' shoulder?
RS Psling threaded to be worn on RS
LS Psling threaded to be  worn on LS

What is 'wrong' shoulder?
RS Psling threaded to be worn on LS
LS Psling threaded to be worn on RS

How To Determine Whether The Psling Is LS or RS, And Which Side Is Top and Bottom

This is Zana's LS Psling.

Notice that this side of the shoulder is the OUTER part. See that small Psling tag, that is an indicator of the Psling shoulder. Whenever you wear your Psling, the tag must always stay at the TOP near your upper body, not at the bottom near your lower body.

See that Psling label and the big X. This is the inner side, so it is the side that should be touching directly to your body.

This video by Hipmaman aka Tam is very useful:

.

But of course, not everybody can watch video, so I hope these pics will help you visualize.

Wearing A Psling On The Wrong Shoulder

I am a RS person and had the chance to try out Zana's LS Psling. I'd like to show you in pictures what it will look like when you wear your Psling on the wrong shoulder.

I used the top flap flipping method as can be viewed here (how to thread your Psling for the 'wrong' shoulder by flipping the top flap of shoulder fabric):

http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v499/Oakvillemoms/Psling%20Videos/?action=view&current=ThreadWRONGShoulder_FlipRail_145145.mp4

If you find the video not that clear, I hope these pics will give you some idea.

So this is how it would look like from the back when you wear a Psling on the wrong shoulder. In my case, I wore this LS Psling on my RS. Notice that the small tag is at the bottom instead of at the top. Also, notice how twisted the sling is on my back, instead of wide-spread like how it should be when one is wearing a sling. If you wear your sling this way, it can cause you backache after some time because the twisted part will create pressure points on your back.

This is how it will look like from the front. Quite a smooth shoulder.

Now I take the top flap of the shoulder, and flip it to the side like this.

Then I spread out the flap all the way to the back. So that the small tag is now on the top instead of the bottom, the way it's supposed to be when worn on the correct shoulder. So now you see that the sling is wide spread behind my back. Not too neat though cos this was just an adhoc demo, plus Psling is quite wide hence the slight bunching.

Now I adjust the shoulder flap so that the flip isn't too obvious.

As for the pouch, the railing along the small Psling tag will be the outer railing, i.e. near baby's head. While the railing opposite the tag side will be the inner railing, i.e. right next to your body and near baby's legs.

Hope that helps!
